Quenching

In precision machining, the quenching process is very important. First, the metal workpiece is heated to above the critical temperature and kept warm for a suitable time to promote the transformation of its internal structure; then it is quickly immersed in a cooling medium, such as oil or water, to quickly cool the workpiece, and the austenite is transformed into martensite, which greatly improves the hardness and wear resistance of the workpiece; however, quenching will produce stress and deformation, and subsequent processes such as tempering are required to optimize performance
