Thailand Focus 2026 Draws Global Investors as Thailand Seeks to Boost Economic Growth

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is hosting Thailand Focus 2026: Reignite Thailand in Bangkok through August 28, bringing together 220 institutional investors from 74 financial institutions worldwide to explore investment opportunities in the country.
The three-day event, which opened on August 26, features discussions between government officials, business leaders, and executives from listed companies on Thailand’s economic outlook, investment climate, and future growth strategy.

Investors are taking part in 1,552 one-on-one and group meetings with executives from 77 companies listed on the SET and the Market for Alternative Investment (mai), including 15 firms participating in the JUMP+ development program. The participating companies represent a combined market capitalization of approximately 16 trillion baht, accounting for about 80% of Thailand’s total stock market value. Seven listed companies from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam are also attending.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas opened the forum with remarks on Thailand’s economic restructuring efforts and policies aimed at attracting foreign investment. Key sessions focus on infrastructure development, future industries, fiscal resilience, geopolitical shifts, and strategies for sustainable economic expansion.
According to SET, Thailand’s benchmark stock index has risen nearly 30% since the start of 2026, while foreign investors have recorded net purchases of 67 billion baht year-to-date. Strong participation from both established financial centers and emerging markets underscores continued international interest in Thailand’s economy and capital markets.
