Stair-Climbing Robot Vacuum Arrives at IFA 2026

Summary:At IFA 2026 in Berlin, a new robot vacuum with articulated legs was unveiled, able to climb stairs and clean each step autonomously. The same maker also launched slim floor vacuums, a robotic lawn mower, and its first pool-cleaning robot.

For years, robot vacuums have stalled at stairs. A new model called Saros Rover aims to change that. Unveiled at IFA 2026, Europe’s biggest consumer electronics show, the Rover has two articulated arms ending in wheels. These legs independently adjust height and tilt, helping it scale uneven surfaces. Built-in motion sensors and real-time 3D environmental analysis let it position each leg to climb and descend stairs. It can also clean each step individually—a first for home cleaning bots—without human intervention. Pricing and launch date are not yet announced.

The maker also updated its floorbound lineup. The Saros 20 Flow Complete offers up to 36,000 Pa suction, retractable LiDAR navigation, and onboard AI that recognizes over 300 obstacle types. Its dock washes the roller with 100°C water and auto-adds detergent. It crosses thresholds up to 8.8 cm and slides under most furniture at under 9 cm high. The Saros 20 Neo is slimmer at 7.95 cm, with similar suction and threshold-climbing abilities. Both are certified to leave homes allergen-free after each pass.

Beyond floors, the company showed a new LiDAR robotic lawn mower and its first pool-cleaning robot. The pool cleaner can autonomously scrub pool floors and walls, adjusting to focus on dirtier areas; it even got a live mini-pool demo at IFA.

With these smart home devices, the brand is closing the gap between smart appliances and true domestic robots. A single robot family could vacuum stairs, clean floors, mow lawns, and scrub pools. Is the future weird? Maybe. But if weird means fewer chores, many consumers will welcome it.
