Product Description

The Dragino LDS02 is a LoRaWAN door contact sensor.

It detects the open/closed status of doors and uploads data to an IoT server via the LoRaWAN network.

Users can check the door status, opening time and opening count on the IoT server.

1. Powered by 2 AAA batteries, the LDS02 is engineered for long-term operation.

These batteries support approximately 16,000 to 70,000 uplink packets.

When the batteries run out, users can easily open the housing and replace them with 2 standard AAA batteries.

2. The LDS02 transmits data periodically on a daily basis and reports every door open/close event.

It also counts door opening events and calculates the duration of the latest door opening.

Users can disable uplink transmission for each switching event.

In this case, the device records all opening events locally and reports them periodically.

3. The LDS02 transmits data periodically on a daily basis and reports every door open/close event.

It also counts door opening events and calculates the duration of the latest door opening.

Users can disable uplink transmission for each switching event.

In this case, the device records all opening events locally and reports them periodically.

4. The LDS02 features a door-open alarm function.

Once configured, the device triggers an alarm if a door remains open longer than the preset duration.

How to Install the LDS02

The LDS02 consists of two parts: the sensor and the magnet. Both components can be mounted onto surfaces using screws or double-sided adhesive tape. For example, to monitor the open/closed state of a door, install the sensor unit on the door frame and the magnet unit on the door leaf.

Mounting with Screws:

Each component comes with a removable base cover that can be taken off the housing. Remove the base covers from both the sensor housing and the magnet housing respectively. You will find two screw holes on each base cover for installation. First, fasten the base covers to the surface with screws, and keep the gap between the two parts as small as possible. Then snap the upper half of the housing onto the lower half. You will hear a "click" sound once they are securely latched together.

Mounting with Double-Sided Adhesive Pads:

The double-sided adhesive pads supplied with the LDS01 feature pre-cut sections. Attach one section to the bottom of the magnet housing (peel off one side of the protective liner first). Attach the remaining section to the bottom of the sensor housing. Once the tape is applied, remove the protective backing paper and fasten both housings to the surface, keeping the gap between them to a minimum.

When installing the LDS02, follow the orientation shown below so that the markers align closely when the door is closed.

Open/Close Threshold Range (minimum gap between the sensor housing and magnet housing): approx. 10 mm
