Performance Requirements for Surface Treatment
Film thickness test (non-destructive)
Gloss test: Gloss meter at 60° incident angle, ±5% error allowed; some customers require gloss ≥ 90%
Color difference test: ΔE ≤ 0.8 on main surface, ≤ 1 on other surfaces, or compared to color sample
Cross-cut test (destructive):
Cut 100 squares on 100 mm² area (1 mm spacing), depth to substrate
Apply 3M #600 Scotch tape (10–13 mm wide)
Remove tape quickly perpendicular to surface
Paint peeling must not exceed 5%
Bending test (destructive):
Bend color panel at r = t radius 180° or repeatedly 90°
Coating must not peel off
