Case study of small forward movement (balanced weight) AGV zinc ingot handling in intelligent delivery in the middle warehouse


Project background: Rizhao Steel Holding Group Co., Ltd. is an important high-quality full-width steel production base. Its main products include hot-rolled full-width plates, hot-rolled coils, cold-formed plates, pickled plates, galvanized plates, high-strength H-shaped steel, etc. This year, Rizhao Steel Group has focused on high-end and intelligent manufacturing, realized full-process automated control, improved the level of flexible production and manufacturing, and achieved a full-process order tracking accuracy of 10%. It has invested heavily in the application of artificial intelligence, machine vision, big data algorithms and other advanced technologies to accelerate the creation of the industry's largest, 200,000-ton full-process intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory. After completion, the entire process will realize "equipment automation business informatization, service networking, and operation intelligence."

In view of the harsh environment of the zinc ingot workshop, such as high production noise and high temperature, the project adopts a complete set of automated and unmanned AGV logistics and handling solutions to achieve the purpose of remote control and monitoring.

Traditional solution: Manual inspection determines whether there is material in the electrolysis area, then a manual forklift is driven to the zinc ingot storage area to transport the material to the electrolysis area. After the electrolysis is completed, the remaining zinc slag is transported to the zinc slag storage area by a manual forklift to complete the operation.

AGV intelligent logistics solution: electrolysis area lacks material → system docking sends signal → AGV takes zinc ingot → passes through the automatic door to give the automatic door signal to open the door → AGV places the zinc ingot in the designated electrolysis area;


Electrolysis is completed → system docking sends signal → AGV takes zinc slag → AGV passes through the automatic door to give the signal to automatically open the door → AGV places the zinc slag in the designated zinc slag storage area → AGV goes to the charging area to charge;

Highlights:


1. The on-site space is compact. In order to maximize the use of space, the zinc ingots are stored in 6-layer stacking. The AGV needs to have the function of automatic depalletizing and stacking;


2. There may be errors in the zinc ingot casting process, resulting in inconsistent height and net space of each layer after stacking. The AGV needs to have the function of automatic identification and height adjustment;


3. The on-site materials are heavy, the temperature is high, the site space is small, and some areas are mixed operation areas for staff and equipment. When there are people walking in the mixed operation area, they are detected by the visual scanning of the Sky Eye system. The AGV must stop working to absolutely ensure the safety of personnel.
